Senior Manager of HR Operations - Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) - Georgetown University Medical Center
The Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) was founded in 2019 and is a leader in advancing innovations to solve intractable global health challenges. Based at Georgetown University Medical Center, CGHPI has operations in multiple countries. Our work is informed by unique approaches anchored in integrated delivery, behavioral, epidemiology, and data science plus human-centered design. We start with the end in mind and approach each challenge we seek to solve through intentional and structured interdisciplinary methods to ensure sustainable improvement in health outcomes and health institutional capabilities.
Job Overview
The Senior Manager of Human Resources Operations is responsible for leading the design of workforce strategies and plans, and managing the human resources operations of CGHPI and Georgetown Global Health (GGH) Country Program teams. They develop and assess country program HR policies and procedures, including the areas of regulatory compliance and reporting.
They work closely with GUMC and CGHPI leadership on developing initiatives to enhance HR processes, talent management, and employee engagement for CGHPI and GGH staff.
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain a strong understanding of HR policies (both domestic and international), and provide guidance to stakeholders on issues related to policy interpretation.
  • Leverage the system of record (Workday) to manage employee data, create employee rosters and reports, and improve data accuracy.
  • Manage partnership with third party payroll providers (PEOs)
  • Identify and address training gaps to support CGHPI and GGH staff.
  • Develop resources and tools to manage HR processes and programs such as new hire onboarding, talent development, workforce planning, and separation.
  • Assist in CGHPI staff recruitment, interview process, selection, and hiring of candidates.
  • Design presentations and metrics that create consistent approaches and best practices in HR operations.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting directly to the GUMC Director of Human Resources and indirectly to CGHPI leadership, the Senior Manager of HR Operations serves as a liaison between GUMC HR, CGHPI administration, and GGH staff to align human resources principles with program objectives, in support of the University mission.
As well, they will interact regularly with University Human Resources, University Finance, GUMC global health leaders, GUMC's EVP leadership team, and the Office of General Counsel; and participate in global health working groups and committees.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources management, or related field
  • 7 to 10 years of experience managing international personnel and human capital
  • Experience with University HR policies, international HR policies, and country labor laws Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analysis
  • Ability to articulate issues and recommend solutions to support leadership in decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collegially and interact effectively with a diverse constituency
  • Oganizational skills and a customer service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in a complex and fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education and/or public health
  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS systems
