Job Overview
The Coordinator for Residential Operations and Assignments, Downtown Campus supports the occupancy management & operational processes including regular inspections, inventory maintenance for all moveable furniture and appliances, managing housing selection and assignments processes, administering critical processes (Room Condition Reports, damage billing, Move In/Move Out), and supervising student building assistants for a campus residential building that houses 475 graduate and undergraduate students in apartments located at 55 H Street, NW -in downtown Washington, DC.
The apartment complex is located at the downtown campus near Georgetown's Law Center and Union Station. As an initiative, this is an exciting opportunity for staff to deeply engage in the devel
opment of the residential experience and the downtown campus experience.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting directly to the Director of Residential Services at Downtown Campus, the Coordinator for Residential Operations collaborates with professional & student staff - for example, Resident Fellows, Community Directors, custodians, and maintenance staff.
The Coordinator's ability to connect and effectively communicate with critical team members is essential to assuring that Residential Services team members are aware of any potential issues within the residential buildings, and to allowing the Coordinator to help manage potential issues in a timely manner, and assuring any campus community members are informed appropriately. The Coordinator also liaises with multiple University departments - most notably facilities & custodial team members working in the complex.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree - note: consideration will be given to an Associate's degree with equivalent work experience
Computer literacy with specific knowledge of - and experience with - word processing, spreadsheet and database software - preference for familiarity with StarRez housing software
Possession of a valid driver's license
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation
Managerial, organizational, analytic and problem-solving skills
Crisis management skills
Ability to work with limited supervision and contribute as a member of a diverse, innovative team
Ability to work with a diverse campus community
Commitment to the ideals of community and the integration of academic and Jesuit values
Availability and willingness to work the month of August (for training and residential building opening), as well as to work occasional evening and weekend hours
Willingness to carry a University-provided cell phone during working hours
Preferred qualification
1 to 2 two years of project management/operations/administrative experience - ideally in university housing
