The George E. Booth Co. is a majordistributor of process instrumentation products and related services tocustomers in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. Founded in1963, George E. Booth Sr. recognized that there would be a natural evolution inthe development of products for the industrial instrumentation processfield.
In addition to excellent communication skills, written andverbally, the ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, ability tomaintain organized calendar/events planner for other employees. HR Generalist is responsible for serving as a linkbetween management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, andadministering resolution to work-related problems by performing the followingduties. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in theUnited States.
Responsibilities for the HR Generalist
1.Activelyrecruit and target key talent to fulfill organizational strategy.
2.Perform searches for qualified job candidates,using sources such as computer databases, networking, Internet recruitingresources, media advertisements, job fairs, recruiting firms, or employeereferrals.
3.Select qualified job applicants or refer themto managers, making hiring recommendations when appropriate.
4.Interview job applicants to obtain informationon work history, training, education, or job skills.
5.Contact job applicants to inform them of thestatus of their applications.
6.Conduct exit interviews and ensure thatnecessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
7.Analyze employment-related data and preparerequired reports.
8.Schedule or administer skill, intelligence,psychological, or drug tests for current or prospective employees.
9.Conduct reference or background checks on jobapplicants.
10.Informjob applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation,benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities.
11.Reviewemployment applications and job orders to match applicants with jobrequirements.
12.Serve as a liaison between employeesand departments or other groups to improve function or communication.
13.Advise managers on organizationalpolicy matters, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, andrecommend needed changes.
14.Analyze and modify compensation,benefits, and policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliancewith legal requirements.
15.Occasionally perform difficultstaffing related duties, such as understaffing, performance improvement oradministration of disciplinary procedures.
16.Advise others on legal or regulatorycompliance matters.
17.Recommend organizational processesor policy changes.
18.Interpret and explain HR policies,procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
19.Maintain current knowledge of HRindustry standards, federal and state regulations.
20.Cross-train with other HR functionsto ensure fluid team performance, serve as a backup to the semi-monthly payrollprocess.
21.All other duties as assigned bysupervision.
Requirements for the HR Generalist
·Ability to make decision, be attentive to details, have culturalawareness and relationship management skills
·High school diploma, GED diploma, or oneto two years’ related experience or training, or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience is required.
·Bachelor’s Degree in related field orthree to five years’ work experience in similar field and/or industry ispreferred.
·HRCI, SHRM or HR relatable certificationhighly encouraged.
