Job Title: Sous Chef

Location: San Diego, CA

Job Summary:

We are a premier fine dining catering company based in San Diego, CA and are seeking a Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for 50% administrative duties and 50% culinary responsibilities. This individual will work closely with the Executive Chef and Operations Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations, menu planning, and production. The Sous Chef will be responsible for ensuring that high-quality food is produced consistently, and that all safety and sanitation procedures are followed.

Essential Job Functions:

Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Operations Manager to create menus and recipes that meet the needs of our clients catering events.

Assist in the management of daily kitchen operations, including food production, inventory management, and kitchen sanitation.

Manage and train kitchen staff in culinary techniques and safety and sanitation procedures.

Oversee food production to ensure high-quality food is consistently produced.

Ensure that all safety and sanitation procedures are followed in the kitchen and work to maintain a clean and organized kitchen space.

Work with the Executive Chef to develop and maintain vendor relationships.

Assist in planning and executing off-site events.

Help in tracking and managing food costs and inventory.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all client needs are met.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Must be able to to travel to San Diego , OC , LA and Palm Desert

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Experience in a catering environment is preferred.

Must have a culinary degree or equivalent experience in the culinary field.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
