Department Physical Therapy Program Location Erie, Pa Position SummaryThe physical therapy program at Gannon University is committed to excellence in student-centered learning, with an emphasis on student-learning outcomes. Our graduate assistants play an important role in achieving these outcomes, working collaboratively with program faculty and colleagues as they assist in program operations, recruitment, and program operations. This position will require working closely with the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Physical Therapy program as a liaison between the undergraduate and graduate students. Graduate assistants must maintain student confidentiality, display initiative, and be flexible with work requirements. This position is open for incoming first-year DPT students. Career Readiness Competencies: Leadership: Plan, initiate, manage, complete, and evaluate projects to enhance the undergraduate experience within the physical therapy program. Teamwork: Collaborate with faculty and the other GA’s to effectively complete all responsibilities and tasks. Professionalism: Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner to accomplish program goals and needs. Required Qualifications
Assist with management and activities of the undergraduate physical therapy club
Organize opportunities for undergraduate students to attend laboratory sessions of DPT students
Organize high school career day and other high school outreach initiatives
Maintain contact with undergraduate students accepted into the physical therapy program or those displaying interest in the program
Organize and deliver informative sessions for undergraduate physical therapy students
Assist in maintaining up-to-date information on prospective undergraduate students
Assist in tracking academic performance of undergraduate physical therapy students
Assist with admitted student days and other recruitment events
Assist with tracking of successful completion of undergraduate coursework, demonstrating proficiency in all content areas necessary for admittance into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program
Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with Gannon University’s campus and the surrounding area preferred. Physical DemandsMust be able to meet the physical demands associated with a busy academic environment.
