Frontline WIldfire Defense is Hiring a Director of Marketing Near San Francisco, CA

Job Title: Director of Marketing
About Frontline Wildfire Defense
Our mission is to protect homes, families and communities from wildfire disasters.
Frontline enables customers to track wildfires, receive important alerts, and safely navigate a wildfire, while protecting a customer’s home with the remotely operated Frontline Wildfire Defense System. With multiple levels of redundancy, our home defense system hydrates the materials of a home and its surrounding area to prevent ignition from flying embers - the #1 cause of structure loss during wildfire.
We have a unique opportunity to market our mobile app and our exterior sprinkler systems to customers in all areas affected by wildfire. This role will be responsible for creating demand for our hardware and software products through multiple go to market channel, including direct sales, channel partner relationships, and B2B partnerships.
We are a small team in the early stages of growth, and yet we have already achieved significant milestones in protecting homes and earning revenue through successfully installing systems throughout California. We have an experienced team of engineers, product designers, and investors and we are growing rapidly.

About This Opportunity

The ability to effectively market our product lines is pivotal to our expansion. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and refine the marketing and brand strategy for our physical products, digital products, and the company as a whole.

As part of the initial team, you will have real autonomy, ownership, and accountability as well as an equity stake in the company.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and own overall marketing strategy including brand, messaging, and marketing budget
  • Create and lead execution of marketing plans including goals, tactics, metrics, timelines, cost and resource estimates, content calendars, and creative briefs.
  • Gain user insight by researching customer pain points, opportunities and user stories utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research
  • Analyze competitor products as well as the overall market to identify how Frontline should position its product lines and respective feature sets to win
  • Create clear and compelling messages to engage and motivate audiences, and implement that messaging across all customer touch points (website, app, digital, print collateral, sales tools, social, and PR.)
  • Identify and develop demand generation concepts, then execute and track KPI’s and use data insights to optimize demand generation efficiency
  • Translate marketing analytics into action to improve campaign and marketing channel (paid, earned, shared and owned) performance.

  • Roll up your sleeves and be ready to jump in where needed as we scale and grow

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, public relations or related field; MBA preferred
  • At least 8 (8 ) years of marketing/strategy experience running omni-channel, integrated marketing campaigns and leading cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into compelling messaging
  • Solid experience creating and executing integrated marketing campaigns (live events, webinars, content, and digital advertising)
  • Experience across targeting, segmentation, and acquisition, along with setting up reporting dashboards and analyzing success of marketing programs
  • Deep understanding of the marketing-sales funnel for both B2B and B2C sales cycles, with a proven track record of driving opportunities, and nurturing leads
  • Positive attitude, high energy level, and ability to thrive in a fast-pace, changeable environment with new situations and ambiguity
  • Team player with strong leadership and people skills who can work collaboratively and drive results with cross-functional team members
  • Strong working knowledge and expertise of the marketing process, tools, and deliverables including the latest practices in omni-channel marketing, media, digital, social media, advertising, email marketing, promotions and sponsorship
  • Experience working in a startup a plus
