Foxconn is Hiring a Mechanical Engineer Near Houston, TX
- Main role to support new product introduction before passing over to sustaining PE
- Main contact point with Cisco related to process and product during the NPI development stage.
- Inclusive of all the job description of Product Engineer

- Improve and support production to resolve manufacturing issues in a timely manner on existing products, processes, procedures and shop floor control as needed.
- Perform time study, manning requirement, line balancing and participate in kaizen projects to reduce cycle-time or cost down activity.
- Implement Lean Concept to production lines by eliminating the 7 wastes (transportation, inventory, motion, wait time, over processing, over production and defects)
- Design and implement new production lines based on new product requirements in terms of line layout, process flow, material handling requirements, infrastructure requirements and etc.
- Develop and maintain work instructions/SOP (standard operation procedures), level 2 documents, process and material flow charts and other process documentations.
- Provide training to trainers and operators on assembly processes and machine operations.
- Design and implement new tools or fixtures to help improve quality and productivity.
- Participate in New Product Introduction from pilot run till hand over to production. Must take the ownership to make a smooth transition from pilot build to mass production by ensuring closure of open items in DFM and NPI checklist
- Active participation in PPR (Product Performance Review) meeting to provide inputs on ECO, capacity and site projects.
- Maintenance of BOM structure and implement ECO (engineering change orders) and deviations.
- Implement Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and upkeep the checklist.
- Participate in projects to automate the process in terms of introducing machineries or robotic in line with Industry 4.0
- Participate in Audit (internal, external compliance and customer)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of Tact Time Analysis, Lean production methods, KanBan, and lean manufacturing
- Understanding of quality systems such as Six Sigma
- Knowledge of Manufacturing BOM (bill of material) structure
- AutoCAD, Visio, and SAP knowledge
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, and prioritization skills
- Proven ability to function independently and multi-task
- Must have ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment
- Knowledge of PLC and robotic programming
- Minimum Bachelor degree with 1 year of process, industrial, or manufacturing engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
- Contract manufacturing experience is a plus.
