About Nest:Nest DC manages and maintains residential real estate in Washington, DC and Maryland. Our portfolio is diverse, ranging from cozy studios to large-format houses, small multi-family buildings and co-living spaces. In 2024, we will scale our co-living and multi-family practices while planning expansion to close-in Maryland.
Throughout 2023, Nest re-designed the service delivery model to achieve more efficiency, profitability and strength of reputation. This redesign is complemented with investments in brand strategy, marketing and growth models, coaches and strong vendor partners.

The Chief Business Officer tends to the fundamentals of the business: systems, company performance, data management and analytics. With a leadership team, you ensure smart growth design and operations and work within EOS (Entrepreneur Operating System) to ensure continuity and accountability across leadership and throughout the organization. We measure progress using EOS models. Those measures are negotiated and agreed upon.

Sales, marketing, communications, operations and finance roll up to the CBO with links to legal and HR and our core service: property management. This executive tracks industry trends in real time and leverages insights to capitalize on growth opportunities and manage risk.

Key Actions:
Build business plan for Maryland and the expansion of Co-living. Landscape analysis, staffing, budget, competition, marketing, projected investment to revenue potential. Business development strategies. Timelines (input from CPMO)
Track portfolio mix. Target client reductions as sales trend up and build off boarding strategy
Oversee performance reviews models and how they are used
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with financial goals.
Track market and industry changes and opportunities
Map plan and viability for Nest to manage converted buildings in downtown corridor
Manage budget and spend for corporate operations
Co-create internal and external communications plans and procedures. Create calendars and workflows/responsibilities so comm standards are met and consistent
Negotiate affiliate agreements and fruitful partnerships
Philanthropy Integration: Align our philanthropic efforts, such as birdSEED, with the company's ethos of empathy and justice, making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.
Tech stack management and evaluation
Oversee sales and onboarding
Design and implement a reputation management program
Reputation Management: Drive home management and leasing team to build Nest’s online reputation. Implement reputation management and cultivation tools to achieve a 4 star rating across target review sites at end of 2024.
Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, investors, and other stakeholders. Model expectations across all teams
