Narrow web Flexographic Production Manager (will pay relocation) Boston, MA

The Production Supervisor is responsible for fulfilling multiple tasks on any given day within the Manufacturing Departments, including involvement in scheduling, staffing, machine operation, inspecting, and special projects. Working closely with customer service to fulfill customer requests. Working with the shipping department to ensure rush orders are produced timely to meet shipping deadlines. This position will show leadership in areas of Continuous Improvement, ISO/BRC quality systems, innovation, safety, and current systems technology. The Production Supervisor role is an Exempt/Salaried position.

Key Responsibilities for Production Supervisor include: Provide leadership, direction, training, performance management, and growth opportunities for all Manufacturing staff through daily supervision; work to further establish an improvement oriented environment and culture Define the structure and required staffing levels to obtain optimum efficiency; provide workflow assessments and recommendation for improvement as necessary Monitor the press schedule and production output with emphasis on standard work and quality Lead and sustain all continuous improvement efforts and quality systems; oversee development and sustainment of all standard work and specific data required to maintain production objectives Participate in the study, selection, and development of production methods of new equipment; recommend and issue work orders for equipment maintenance, repairs, parts, and supplies Facilitate departmental meeting including daily production start-up meetings as needed; provide back-up and support for off-shifts and voids in the supervision schedule The ideal candidate must demonstrate: Thorough knowledge of all Manufacturing procedures Strong leadership skills including the ability to mentor, guide, motivate and train a diverse team of people to develop and elevate customer service levels across the organization. Ability to make fact-based decisions and troubleshoot issues to keep projects running smoothly and efficiently Effective time management skills to meet deadlines on multiple long- and short-term projects simultaneously, meeting all related deadlines Clear communication and collaboration skills, both orally and in writing, to all levels of people inside and outside the organization Ability to provide high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquires of internal and external customers
Education, Skills, and Experience: Required: High school diploma or equivalent Required: 2- 5 years related experience with roll-fed narrow-web flexographic printing Required: 2 or more years’ experience in a similar leadership role Required: Ability to lift up to 50lbs, as well as stand and bend throughout the shift Required: Solid math, reading, and writing skills Preferred: Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing and ISO/BRC quality systems
