Please read below for some of the essential functions and responsibilities for this role within the clinic and in the community!

• Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; cleaning, stocking, and arranging exam room instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Tracks supply and vaccine inventories, temperatures, and documentation.
• Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; presenting preventive screening questions, updating the medical charts in an EMR system, recording chief complaints, reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs, phlebotomy, injecting vaccinations or other ordered medications by the Provider, capturing all UDS and HEDIS required data and documenting it, confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
• Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; collecting and preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; drawing blood; coordinating care with insurance companies and specialists, referral tracking and follow through, taking electrocardiograms; removing sutures; changing dressings.
• Documenting conversations with patients and managing all medical information in an EMR using HIPAA compliance.

Our ideal candidate would have experience working in clinical or community health settings. In addition to your Medical Assistant training and any applicable certifications, a strong work ethic, flexibility and ability to work within a team is a must. Bilingual in Spanish or other language preferred. This position is full time and requires you to work with an awesome team!
