DESCRIPTION:

First Financial Group is searching for an experienced Business Manager/Office Manager to join our location in Virginia Beach, VA. The Business Manager/Office Manager role will allow you to join a team of passionate, forward-thinking Financial Advisors who are eager to meet the unique investment and retirement goals of our clients. In this position you will oversee the daily operational management of the office as well as handle bookkeeping duties in support of our accounting department. The ideal Business Manager/Office Manager will be a key partner in ensuring that people, systems, and processes are running in unison.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising office staff including assigning and monitoring operational functions to ensure they are productive, meeting deadlines and adhering to firm standards.
  • Assisting with the planning, organizing, and implementing of bookkeeping functions in coordination with the accounting department.
  • Reviewing general ledgers and schedules to resolve discrepancies and developing action plans.
  • Managing office expenses, supplies, equipment, and furniture while ensuring all items are invoiced and paid on time.
  • Facilitating the interviewing, onboarding, training and offboarding of office staff.
  • Reporting office progress to senior management in order to improve operation systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Acting as a liaison between office, building management, external vendors, and service providers.
  • Assisting with the planning of on-site and off-site events and conferences.
  • Performing other duties, as needed.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of operational management experience in a professional office setting is required; accounting knowledge and bookkeeping experience are bonuses.
  • Prior organizational supervisory or management experience in financial planning or wealth management office is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sage accounting software.
  • Excellent attitude and extraordinary customer service orientation.
  • Extreme attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership, relationship building, and critical thinking aptitude.
  • Process-driven creative thinker with solid interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Initiative-taker with the ability to think strategically and conceptually.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently, based on logical assumptions and factual information.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
