The ideal candidate must be able to multi task in a fast paced environment, and have a positive, professional team-oriented attitude. Excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic is a must. A caring and compassionate attitude is required of all team members. The veterinary clinic is equipped with digital x-ray, in house lab, and paperless medical records. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of veterinary technician experience, whose primary duties include assisting the veterinarian as needed in addition to the below:

-drawing jugular and cephalic blood proficiently

-placing IV catheters

-calmly, and safely, approaching and restraining canine and feline patients

-maintaining clean exam rooms, and set up for routine procedures

-running bloodwork, and interpreting lab results

-assisting in taking x-rays

-preparing medications prescribed by the doctor, and explaining the usage to the client

-communicating discharge instructions to clients

-documenting and maintaining records on patients as requested by the doctor, such as SOAP notes, TPRs, and Signalment

-cleaning, wrapping, and sterilizing instruments

-keeping supplies stocked throughout the day

-being knowledgeable in products and services that we offer

-helping in the kennel, by walking dogs, feeding pets, cleaning out kennels

-assisting with sweeping, mopping, removing trash, and general cleanliness throughout the clinic

-must be flexible with schedule and able to float where needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
