Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, performing laboratory tests, administering medications, and providing compassionate care to animals and their owners.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other procedures
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal examinations
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor anesthesia during procedures
- Take and develop X-rays
- Provide post-operative care and monitor the recovery of animals
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Clean and maintain equipment and work areas
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician or in a related role preferred
- Proficient in veterinary terminology and medical procedures
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for surgical procedures
- Familiarity with kennel operations and animal handling techniques
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments with confidence and compassion
- Strong understanding of animal care practices and husbandry techniques
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with pet owners
