TDH Elementary teachers must effectively manage a classroom, clearly communicate and teach one or more subjects, and follow school procedures. They are responsible for monitoring each student's progress and providing additional mentorship to those who require it. In addition, they must ensure adherence to school rules and promote good behavior among students inside and outside the classroom. Other duties of elementary teachers include:
- Giving and grading assignments, homework, and tests
- Helping students prepare for standardized testing
- Overseeing students during recess, lunch, and other activities
- Talking to parents about their children's progress
- Meeting and working with other teachers and supervisors to discuss school policies
- Working some evenings and weekends to create lesson plans and grade assignments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.38 - $22.13 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 40 per week
