Farouk Systems is Hiring a Facilities Technician Near Houston, TX
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the construction, maintenance, repair and upkeep of Farouk Systems, Inc. buildings, grounds, facilities and other administration buildings.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures, switches, outlets and other electrical repairs not requiring a license.
- Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains, faucets, sinks, and unclogging of drains). Troubleshoots plumbing failures and malfunctions to determine course of action necessary to correct the problem.
- Performs carpentry work in the construction or renovation of buildings or additions to existing structures which includes tearing out walls, rebuilding new walls, installing partitions, ceilings, doors, and windows, hanging sheet rock, and laying floor covering; builds and repairs furniture, shelves, bulletin boards, and signs.
- Paints and plasters interior and exterior building surfaces, signs, furniture, and equipment.
- Constructs, maintains and repairs concrete and other foundations using mortar, brick, stone and other materials.
- Moves, loads, and unloads materials, supplies, furniture, and equipment.
- Assists Maintenance Technicians with the service of manufacturing equipment, warehouse and production areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma required.
- 4 years of facility maintenance required with some experience in HVAC and plumbing.
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, fixtures, tools and equipment used in various building and maintenance trades.
Skills & Abilities:
- Must be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Must lift regularly up to 30 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Must be skilled in the use of hand tools associated with performance of job duties.
Salary:
- Commensurate with experience
