OVERVIEW

Human Resources Generalist (Full-Time, Onsite Position)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist assists and supports all of the functions of the Human Resources Department including the planning and implementation of the Human Resources Plan for the company. The position recruits, screens, interviews and places workers into employment opportunities within the company. The Human Resources Generalist also will onboard new employees and supervise background checks and training for new employees. The position will support the Director of Human Resources and our hiring managers regarding current human resource laws, regulations and policies and assist with other human functions to support the mission and goals of ERI at Home.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with development of HR Plan regarding company's future and its workforce.
  • Becomes an expert in the company culture, values, and mission to effectively promote and communicate with potential candidates.
  • Works within budget for recruiting applicants.
  • Assists with development and implementation of the Recruiting Plan. Using the current applicant tracking system recruits applicants to fill needed roles, posts jobs to internal and external job boards, screens applicants, interviews or assists hiring managers with interviews, attends job fairs or events to market employment opportunities to the community.
  • Conducts employee onboarding and utilizes the current HRIS system.
  • Helps design and implement training & development initiatives including new hire orientation and continuing education.
  • Assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Gathers and analyzes data with useful HR metrics and KPI's.
  • Assist in designing and implementing employee performance review policies, procedures and systems.
  • Supervises the maintenance of employee files and records in electronic and paper form accurately.
  • Enhances employee job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, encourages employee engagement, internal communications, and organizing team building activities.
  • Assists in regulatory reporting and helps ensure compliance with labor law and regulations.
  • Assists with evaluating job roles within the company and writes or updates job descriptions as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in business management or human resources

Experience: Must have one to three years of experience in Human Resources and working with a HR Information System

Computer Skills: Must possess strong computer skills including spreadsheet pivot tables, macros, excel formulas, etc.

Certificates & Licenses: SHRM or PHR certification preferred.

Skills: must have strong relationship building skills and interpersonal and listening skills in connecting with candidates and internal business managers; effective and strong written and verbal communication skills; assertively address problems and issues; strong organization skills to manage information and data; quickly responds to customers, applicants and internal business managers; meets deadlines; capable of working in a growth environment; maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws, regulations, benefits laws, and other state or local or federal laws impacting the workforce; strong decision making and judgement skills; strong discretion in protecting sensitive information of employees.

JOB TYPE: Full-time

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
