The Opportunity

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant must be an enthusiastic builder with a solid accounting background. This position will be a contributor to multiple aspects of accounting and financial reporting and responsibilities with cross-department collaboration opportunities and visibility to management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare key areas of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes, including cash, prepaid expenses, accounts payable and accrued expenses, including partnering with cross-functional business partners.
• Participate in day-to-day transactional accounting activities, including cash activity and accounts payable processing.
• Responsible for preparing respective sections of financial statements.
• Prepare quarterly review and annual audit support and interact with external auditors.
• Support the maintenance and process enhancements to our general ledger (Netsuite), P2P system (Coupa), and company master data.
• Assisting with process improvements and ensuring the effectiveness of our SOX 404 controls.
• Other ad hoc projects with Accounting Manager and Controller, as needed.

To thrive on our team, you will need to come with:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, additional post-graduate degree in accounting or finance is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and industry positions.
• CPA, or path towards completion, is strongly preferred.
• Experience within the Life Science industry a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and experience with technical accounting research.
• Ability to be a team player with a can-do attitude and a willingness to embrace new challenges and the flexibility to adjust courses based on new findings and team inputs.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment and ability to perform at a high level through change.
