The Mobility Mentor will
be joining the AMP Up
team.
AMP Up
will empower more than 250 determined residents from the Boston Housing Authority and Cambridge Housing Authority to pursue their dreams in education, careers, and financial stability. The program combines participant-driven supportive services, peer learning, and cash incentives to help families achieve success. AMP Up Boston is
also a
groundbreaking
researc

study
with Harvard and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Together,

embarking on a quest to
truly understan
d
how our mentorship approach empowers participants to achieve economic self-sufficiency.
The Mobility Mentor
will
play a pivotal role in helping AMP Up participants take significant steps towards their goals and to reach their career
aspirations.
Your day-to-day activities will include:
  • Coaching for
    s
    uccess
    by
    p
    roviding personalized one-on-one Mobility Mentoring coaching to at least 25 participants, with a focus on various aspects related to promoting economic mobility, including housing, budgeting, career and education, childcare, healthcare, and more.
  • Tracking progress
    ,
    t
    horoughly
    assessing
    and
    maintaining
    detailed records based on individual plans to
    assist
    participants in staying on course and reaching their goals.
  • Managing and
    regularly entering
    data
    to support both internal decision-making and external research efforts, contributing to program refinement for maximum impact.
  • Marketing and recruiting potential program candidates
    , expanding our reach to
    those
    who could
    b
    enefit
    from our services.
  • Develop
    ing
    and
    facilitat
    ing
    participant
    workshops and community groups
    to support
    and enhance participant learning.
  • Building

    among participants and
    facilitating
    meaningful connections between them, promoting a supportive and collaborative environment.
What traits do you need to be successful in this role?
  • Experience or training in human services coaching.
  • Ability to manage a case load of up to 25 participants effectively and efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of workforce development, economic literacy, education, and career exploration.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with partners, colleagues, and participants
    .
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity with groups and individuals
    representing
    a variety of needs, abilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to respond flexibly to a fluid and evolving program environment.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills, including data entry.
Ways to stand out in the crowd
  • Bilingual in
    English
    and
    Haitian
    Creole.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Basic knowledge of principles of community organizing, service coordination, and advocacy to
    initiate
    /coordinate service delivery and follow-up services.
  • Connections to community resources and institutions within the area of expertise is a plus.

This role is budgeted for
