Eightfold is Hiring a Benefits and Leave Specialist Near New York, NY

Who we are looking for: 

The Benefits and Leave Specialist will oversee all Benefit and Leave management and administration for the company. We are looking for someone who can think “out of the box” and take the initiative by finding cost-effective programs that best suit the organization. They are solution-oriented and resolve issues quickly and thoroughly whether pertaining to FMLA/State Leaves or changing contributions in a 401k account. They are the go-to person for both new hires and long-standing employees looking to make the most of what our company benefits offer.

Role Responsibilities/Duties 

  • Identify, implement, and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, HSA, 401(k), Commuter Benefits, Paid Time Off and identify other employee discount and benefit programs. 
  • Manage leaves of absences including disability, FMLA, Worker’s compensation, etc. 
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations 
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor regulations including ACA administration. 
  • End of year auditing including review of 1095s 
  • Audit employees that are on leave to ensure timely and accurate HRIS updates 
  • Own and complete State Benefits Audits (Unemployment requests from State Agencies) 
  • Coordinate open enrollment activities and communicate benefit options to employees 
  • Manage relationships with benefit providers and resolve any issues or discrepancies 
  • Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries and provide guidance on available options 
  • Perform administrative duties in support of the maintaining of employee records, including personnel status updates in HRIS (Paycom) for leaves and related transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver training programs on benefits administration processes 
  • Maintain the 401k Plan and be the point person for the annual audit 
  • Partner with the payroll team and assist as needed. 
  • Analyze current processes and look for ways to make more efficient and automated 
  • Analyze current benefits package and pitch different vendors, benefits all while staying within a limited budget 
  • Experience taking a company from fully insured to self-insured is preferable.

Work/Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • 3-5 years of benefits and Leave experience is required. Worked for a start-up or small business highly preferred. 
  • Must be tech savvy and expert with Microsoft Excel. 
  • Prior experience working with Paycom or other HRIS systems is required. 

Location: 

  • This is a hybrid position (3 days in our New York, NY 10107 HUB, and 2 days remote). 

Salary: $70,000k yearly
