Introduction:

Corporate Hiring Solutions (Cohires) is currently seeking licensed clinicians to provide Qualified Individual (QI) assessments of juvenile delinquent youth placed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). This opportunity aligns with the federal Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) and corresponding NYS standards, aiming to ensure the well-being and proper assessment of vulnerable youth populations.

Position Overview:

As a licensed clinician contracted by Corporate Hiring Solutions (Cohires) on behalf of OCFS, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive QI assessments of OCFS-placed juvenile delinquent youth in identified regions across New York State. These assessments play a critical role in determining the appropriate placement and care plans for youth involved in the juvenile justice system.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct Qualified Individual (QI) assessments of OCFS-placed juvenile delinquent youth by FFPSA and NYS standards.
• Utilize the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths – New York (CANS-NY) tool for assessments.
• Interview youth and their families to gather necessary information for formulating short- and long-term mental and behavioural health goals.
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and OCFS policies related to Family First.
• Complete assessments within specified timeframes, ensuring timely submission.
• Collaborate with OCFS staff, designated facilities, and multi-disciplinary support teams to gather information and formulate recommendations.
• Provide recommendations on the most appropriate placement for youth based on assessment findings.
• Attend required training, meetings, and court proceedings as requested by OCFS.
• Maintain accurate documentation and submit required reports and invoices.

Qualifications:

• A licensed clinician with a minimum of two years of experience in the juvenile justice/child welfare field.
• Experience working with juvenile justice/child welfare programs within the last 15 years.
• Certification in CANS-NY is preferred.
• Strong understanding of FFPSA and NYS standards related to youth services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to assessment locations within the designated regions.

1. Buffalo Region: Up to 850 total assessment hours.
2. Rochester Region: Up to 300 total assessment hours.
3. Syracuse/Utica Region: Up to 250 total assessment hours.
4. Capital District Region: Up to 150 total assessment hours.
5. Mid-Hudson Region: Up to 150 total assessment hours.
6. Long Island Region: Up to 1,150 total assessment hours.
7. Statewide Standby: Up to 150 total assessment hours.
