Eat Street Crossing is Hiring a Line Cook Near Minneapolis, MN

POSITION DESCRIPTION

As an ESC line cook, you’ll be a key component in our customer service & culinary team, reporting to the ESC Sous Chefs or Squad Manager, to ensure our customers get accurately and efficiently cooked meats, fish, vegetables, soups, pizza, sushi and other food items. You will also prepare and portion food products prior to cooking.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet customers as you make eye contact with them along with when they come into and leave your station
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items on griddles, broilers, ovens, sauté pans, fryers, steam kettle and a variety of other kitchen equipment
  • Assume 100% responsibility for GREATness of food served. Know and observe all ESC recipes, portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards along with all ESC rules, policies and procedures
  • Stock & maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
  • Portions/prep food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation including shelves, tables, hood vents, equipment-both cooking and refrigeration
  • Handle, store and rotate all product properly, keeping your squad area and walk-in coolers organized.
  • Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
  • Close down according to ESC standards. Assist others in closing down their stations
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings
  • Comply with all ESC company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards
  • Perform all duties in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience cooking in high volume fast-casual restaurant
  • Ability to read labels, directions, etc
  • Must be able to communicate effectively for scheduling and training
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop frequently & lift up to 40lbs
  • Be able to work standing for long periods of time
  • Ability to work second or third shift, holidays and weekends are required
