DVM, Manufacturing Engineering is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near West Chester, PA

The Human Resources Generalist position will be located in our West Chester, PA production facility.

Nestled in the heart of the Brandywine Valley just 30 minutes from Wilmington and 45 minutes from Center City Philadelphia, Downtown West Chester, Pennsylvania reflects the small-town charm and cosmopolitan tastes that prompted The Philadelphia Inquirer to call West Chester “…one of the world’s most perfect small towns.”

Job Summary:

The Human Resource Generalist position is an integral member of the Human Resources team and will, at the assigned location(s), support and coordinate the day-to-day functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including, but not limited to, recruiting and interviewing staff, coordinating new hire processes relating to onboarding, pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Essential functions of the position include providing an in-person resource for, and support of, HR processes at the assigned location.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs routine tasks required to facilitate and support human resource functions or programs at the assigned site(s), including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. Correctly identifies issues that merit escalation to appropriate personnel.
  • Posts job vacancies, tracks applicants, conducts screening interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions at assigned site(s); collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for screening of candidates.
  • Facilitates new hire orientation, employee feedback and employee recognition programs.
  • Facilitates benefits enrollment processes, reconciles benefits invoices, tracks and resolves discrepancies.
  • Supports and facilitates employee recognition, satisfaction and rewards programs.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • May attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Understands and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Acquires or maintains professional human resources certification(s), SHRM-CP or equivalent.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred, or 2-5 years of directly applicable experience in a similar role.
  • SHRM-CP (or equivalent professional certification) a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • The work environment is a typical office environment, with quiet to moderate noise level, and traditional overhead lighting.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and operating a computer.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively using phones or computer software.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.
  • Must be able to travel between DVM locations, as needed, some travel could require overnight stays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
