DEPARTMENT: RETAIL SALES
REPORTS TO: GENERAL SALES MANAGER
PURPOSE :
The Sales Manager is responsible for managing the daily activity and sales performance of the sales consultants. Serves daily in an active capacity managing the showroom traffic, and all other sales source traffic to optimize sales opportunities. Assist the GSM in the management of inventories, ensuring optimal inventories for sales effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
Management Related:
Accomplish sales objectives and departmental goal through effective planning and execution of sales strategies
Utilize sales tools to effectively make outbound communications with clients
Conduct training and coaching through training and coaching initiatives; report utilization
Meet Daily with the GSM to review and discuss mutual goals and performance vs. objectives
Continually self-educate as to federal, state and local regulations affecting the sale or lease of new vehicles. Seek GSM or GM assistance when needed.
Personnel Related :
Train, motivate, coach and counsel Sales Representatives to performance standards as set forth by Dealership policy and procedure
Direct the daily activities of all department employees to achieve sales objectives
Manage the efforts of Sales Representatives in support of Customer Care and related CSI performance
Continuously communicate with Sales Representatives to ensure that Dealership policies and procedures are adhered to
Review all Sales Representatives performance as indicated in CRM reporting
Assist in the development and implementation of programs or training for Sales Representatives unable to reach their objectives
Conduct daily/weekly Sales Training as directed by GSM
Coach and counsel with Sales Representatives on manufacturer and Dealership programs that can increase vehicle sales, gross profits and F&I penetration
Collaborate with other departments for teamwork and overall Dealership performance
Customer and Department Related and Other:
Recommend to the GSM, market driven New Vehicle inventory to be carried by model, engine designation, equipment, options and availability
Develop, implement and execute the use of inbound and outbound Customer Relationship Management tools and resources
Take active role in assisting Sales Representatives during the Customer Agreement Process; close sales
Monitor New Vehicle Delivery process as outlined in M-B New Vehicle Delivery Guide
Assist in the development of advertising and marketing campaigns, merchandising and promotions
QUALIFICATIONS:
High-Line Sales Management Sales Manager Experience 2 Year Minimum. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to understand and use written, electronic and verbal communications. Minimum of two years of automotive sales experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Valid in-state Drivers License. Professional personal appearance. Excellent communication skills. Highly effective sales negotiation skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Sales Manager works both indoors and out, moving about the Dealership facility and vehicle displays to communicate with Sales Representatives and Customers. He/she works closely with the Pre-owned Vehicle department and the F&I department to process paperwork and to review sales. Must be able to operate a vehicle as shipped by the manufacturer in a safe manner as required for inventory management responsibilities. Weekend, evening and holiday hours may be required and are market driven.
