WHAT YOU WILL DO You will support the Accounting/Finance Team with general accounting responsibilities pertaining to Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable along with month end close responsibilities. You will assist in developing new processes and enforce best accounting practices are being followed per group guidelines. The ideal candidate will have an excellent eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and is comfortable collaborating with our partners internally and externally!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

• Post all incoming Accounts Payable invoices with proper approval/backup documentation.
• Prepare Weekly Payment Runs for approval/ Process Payments to Vendors.
• Review & analyze employee expenses on Navan Expense Platform.
• Properly review/post credit card statements to correct general ledger accounts.
• Assist with various accounting projects as needed (Balance Sheet Reconciliations) posting and owning other areas of the books as time goes on (Prepaids).
• Assist in posting bank details as a shared responsibility and recognising monthly Revenue/COGS for 5 Spa locations, Marketplaces (Amazon), & Wholesale. 
• Prepare support where needed on reporting globally and for the local Team
• Post daily Bank Reconciliations, and for Wholesale/Retail receipts present – pulling remittances from customer portals & applying payments to related invoices.
• Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identify delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contact delinquent accountholders to request payment.
• Confirm customer orders are ready to invoice, process invoices, email to customers.
• Research and solve payment discrepancies. Coordinating deduction approvals postings / posting accruals and releases for unapproved deductions or those present but not yet taken (ie. staffing support). Documenting proper approval for significant deductions/ short payments, and those still pending. 

YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

• NetSuite Experience Preferred.
• Exceptional organization & documentation skills with excellent attention to detail
• Familiarity handling large US retailer deductions (Nordstom, Saks) would be a bonus
• Prior involvement/understanding of month end & year end close procedures, documentation best practice and pride in work. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all responsibilities are performed in a timely manner.
• Knowledge & Practice of general accounting principles.
• 4 or more years experience
