Overview

A sweet family of four, including two young children, is seeking a live-in, full-time Nanny | Family Assistant to become a valued member of their household! The perfect fit for this role is fluent in Spanish, dedicated to fostering a nurturing, playful atmosphere for the kids, and willing to lend a hand with household tasks such as light cleaning, meal preparation, and running errands upon request. Respect and adherence to the family’s commitment to a holistic, eco-friendly lifestyle is paramount. This includes practices such as maintaining a plastic-free home, avoiding seed oils and added sugar, opting for organic food and grass-fed meat, and refraining from using candles or perfume, among other eco-conscious choices.

Given the family's desire for travel, particularly during the summer months, the ideal candidate should be packed and ready for exciting adventures! Previous experience traveling with children would be highly beneficial. Although this position involves various responsibilities for the Nanny | Family Assistant, the utmost priority is always the well-being of the children. The selected candidate should consistently prioritize their needs above all else.

• Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday with flexibility for occasional adjustments
• Hours: Ranging from 7am to 6pm on some days and 8am to 7pm on others
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred
• Enthusiasm for travel and a spirit of adventure are a must!

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervising the children at all times and ensuring their well-being – this is most important
• Driving the children to and from activities
• Facilitating the daily routines of the children – getting ready, meal time, nap time, bath time, etc.
• Planning and participating in thoughtful, creative activities with the children 
• Preparing or assembling healthy meals, school lunches, and snacks for the children
• Cleaning up after children's meals and activities 
• Traveling with the family when requested
• Running errands for the family 
• Assist with the general tidying/cleaning of the home including laundry (note, a cleaning company does the deep cleaning twice a week)

 Qualifications and Skills:

• Must live in or be willing to relocate to Washington, DC
• Minimum of 3 years as a nanny or working with children in a similar capacity (camp counselor, teacher, etc.)
• Nannies with Montessori experience preferred 
• Exceptional organizational skills, being proactive, and dedication to responsibilities
• Physically agile; able to keep up with active children
• Respect and adherence to the family’s urge to live a holistic, eco-friendly lifestyle – no plastic in the home, no seed oils or added sugar, organic food and grass fed meat, no candles or perfume, etc.
• First aid and CPR certification preferred
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Must be able to speak English fluently; Spanish speakers are preferred!
• Must be able to make a long-term commitment and provide stability
• Must love dogs
• Nonsmokers – non vaper
• Covid-19 vaccination is preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

• $30 per hour | DOE (candidate will be eligible for OT)
• Healthcare stipend 
• 10 paid vacation days

• Discretionary bonus after one full year of work
• Mileage reimbursement if car is used for work
