Overview

A young family of 5 in NYC is looking for a flexible, collaborative and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join their household team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience in either private residences or premium hospitality settings, with a knack for efficient teamwork and maintaining household standards. This organization is stable, structured, and employs top-level private service professionals; this could be your forever position.

• This position is ideal for candidates who can work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
• Typically the schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5pm.
• Full time, live-out.

Responsibilities:

• Daily housekeeping activities include
  • Cleaning and organization of household areas
  • Weekly and biweekly housekeeper checklist duties
  • All laundry duties, including hand washing, ironing, and dry cleaning
  • Care of plants and flowers throughout the home
  • Care for fine furnishings, art, accessories, china, crystal, silver and as requested clean with appropriate products
  • Organize closets, cupboards and storage areas as needed
• Execute seasonal and routine deep cleaning projects
• Help serve at dinner parties
• Report repairs that are needed
• Order and stock cleaning supplies and family over-the-counter items
• Maintain Principal's toiletries, wardrobe, and other closet inventory
• Assist with packing and travel preparation, as needed
• Work hand in hand with the Director of Residences to streamline household operations
• Communicate with other teams regarding family preferences, requests, movements, and feedback
• Daily walk-throughs of the home for operational and safety review
• Unpack and log incoming packages, returns/exchanges.
• Run errands for supplies the Principal or team, as needed

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• 3 years of relevant experience working in a private residence or premium hospitality
• Must be local to NYC
• Must be eligible to work in the US
• Fluent in English and an effective communicator; not chatty
• Physical stamina and mobility, including ability to reach, knee, squat, crouch, bend and crawl. Ability to lift, push and pull
• Should have a good understanding of technology and its applications in the home
• Experience in maintaining a private employer’s confidentiality and privacy
• A superb attitude and work ethic
• Take ownership of work, thinks strategically and is resourceful
• Ability to work well with existing team as well as work independently

Compensation and Benefits:

• $45-$50 per hour
• Full medical, dental, and vision – 100% paid for the employee
