We are seeking an Operations & Financial Analyst. This position is a professional management-track position based in Diligent’s national headquarters in Houston. The position requires skills in financial/accounting, information/tech, excellent communication, and learned operational skills over time as the Analyst acquires knowledge about Diligent.

The Analyst is a high-tempo position, reporting directly to the CFO with a matrix to other executives, working directly alongside the C-Suite: CEO, COO, CIO, and other Senior managers across departments. The dynamic nature of the Analyst role will involve practically all aspects of financial and operations matters of the business, across corporate departments, eight divisions, 30 locations across the U.S., and will expose the Analyst to exciting and challenging projects.

The Analyst career track is the most dynamic role in the Company and over time will lead to more senior managerial opportunities in Accounting/Finance, IT/Systems, Operations, Sales, and other departments. Because the Analyst touches many departments being directly involved in operational matters, the Analyst serves as a liaison to the C-Suite, taking instruction from, and reporting back to, the Executive group, interacting with Diligent’s employees, clients, and vendors across the entire national system. The Analyst will also be involved in M&A, working with the CFO in corporate development, playing a direct role in due diligence and integration related to target-companies Diligent buys under its active nationwide acquisition program.

The fundamental duties of the Analyst are to source, extract, analyze, and report business and financial data to increase metric efficiency and operational effectiveness. In this position, under the authority of the C-Suite, the Analyst will direct activities that will have a significant impact on process improvement, personnel organization, sales support activities (quotes/job costing), cost control and other matters.

The Operations and Financial Analyst role is not a remote work-at-home position, and no hybrid work arrangements are considered. Diligent’s general staff office hours are 8a–5p Mon-Fri.

As a professional management-track position, the Analyst’s workload will be need-based, driven by projects and deadlines underway. Travel is anticipated to be light (<10%) and project-related/episodic, related to M&A acquisition activities (analyzing new target companies) and short (day or overnight) visits to Diligent locations, clients and/or key vendors across the U.S.

Responsibilities

· Conduct financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, and reporting efforts to ensure efficient financial operations and potential cost savings and articulate rationale for cost savings opportunities including results of sourcing metrics to Executive leadership.

· Review actual data vs. forecasts/quotes, investigate cost variances, develop tools for improving the forecasting, and trend analysis. Summarize results and report recommendations to management.

· Analyze and validate transportation costs on specific jobs/routes/clients/vendors.

· Originate new systemic approaches to gathering, capturing, tracking, and mining data.

· Creative de novo, ad hoc analysis to support management decision-making in new business initiatives. This will include preparing and reviewing a variety of complex financial data and will maintain and update the marketing/sales financial models and forecasts.

· Create, collect, and manipulate databases, spreadsheets, etc. to support transportation and other types of logistics planning (route mapping, vehicle/route matching), job pricing, and other business and operational matters.

· Recommend improved software solutions to the CIO and IT Dept.

· Assist the CFO to facilitate and manage budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, and implementation of strategic planning initiatives from a financial perspective.

· Assist in preparing quarterly reporting to the board of directors; attending board meetings

· With time, the Analyst will help develop, maintain, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and recommend process improvements across departments.

Education, Skills and Qualifications

· 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from a highly accredited university

· MIS/IT coursework and experience is a major plus and solid technical skills are a requirement

· Expert proficiency in Excel Power Query , SQL, Visual Basic, Database is required

· With the assistance of the IT Dept, an ability to keep up-to-date with successive generations of software applications (and newly purchased applications) is a requirement

· Excellent analytics and data manipulation capabilities, with the ability to create actionable information and communicate such, using excellent time management skills, a process-oriented approach, and professional communication (written and verbal) is required

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
