JOB TITLE: Human Resources Coordinator
Classification (Exempt/Non-exempt): Non-Exempt
Reports to/Backed up by: Director of Human Resources
Supervisory Responsibility (Yes/No): No

This position is full time, with complete benefit package.
Ideal candidate must be bilingual with the ability to read, write and speak in English and Spanish.
Typical work hours will be Monday - Friday from 8AM - 5PM, however employee will need to have the ability to be flexible with hours to assist with recruiting and onboarding of retail and production employees.

The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for completing administrative duties in the Human Resources Department. This key role will support the demands of rapid growth while assisting in the areas of recruitment, maintaining employee records, and providing administrative support to employees and managers, as it relates to Human Resources inquiries. Additionally, this role is responsible for maintaining and fostering a positive employee experience for all areas of Dewey’s Bakery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Responsible for handling day-to-day internal and external Human Resources related inquiries and requests; redirect Human Resources related calls and inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ability to complete and serve as primary contact for full circle recruiting for production and retail areas, such as posting advertisements, sourcing candidates, performing background checks.
  • Coordinate and perform new hire orientations, onboarding, and update records with new hire information.
  • Working as a liaison, ensures consistency in communication throughout other Dewey’s facilities following local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Maintain and update employee records, such as personal information, wage verifications, updates to employee files, both electronically and hard copies
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, and other Human Resources related events
  • Review and research current policies and procedures, recommend changes and updates for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in coordinating training sessions and seminars for various departments.
  • Serve as a key member of Dewey’s Culture team.
  • Create human resources informational slides for departmental presentations, such as Employee Newsletter, Business Reviews, Benefits Guides, etc.
  • Assist with annual benefits enrollment, process employee enrollment and other employee benefit changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Bilingual is required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as this position will involve some nights and weekend work is required.
  • Two (2) to Three (3) years-experience working in Human Resources at an assistant or coordinator level; with prior history in a manufacturing setting where main responsibilities include the areas of scheduling, recruiting, interviewing; familiarity with social media recruiting and applicant tracking are a plus.
  • Strong ability to use MS Office (excel, word, PowerPoint), and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to handle data with confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and work well with a team.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to problem solve and devise timely resolutions.

  • Frequently lifting boxes and bag ingredients weighing between 20 and 50 pounds.
