About Detroit Parent Network (DPN) Detroit Parent Network is Michigan’s premier organization dedicated to parent engagement. We focus on educating, equipping, and empowering parents to be champions for their children, effecting change in schools and communities. Our expansive network of parents works to engage parents and other advocates to ensure every child has a champion. DPN is multi-generational, and our advocacy and programming are equity-focused; we help to improve services, programs, and policies that empower ALL children and families. We are committed to elevating parental pathways to literacy and workforce development and supporting the aspirations of their children. DPN is expanding to serve 10 Michigan counties across the state in 2024-2025. We will work with existing and new funders and community organizations to enhance parent engagement, empowerment, advocacy, and training across a spectrum of areas, including health, education from pre-k through to college, career readiness, and workforce development to promote economic mobility.

Role Overview

Reporting to the director of Programing and Impact, the DPN program manager will work with a wide range of stakeholders to develop, implement, and assess programs and projects to increase parent engagement, literacy and healthy families.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned program(s) to meet business objectives.

• Implementing various outreach, recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies.

• Develop program goals and infrastructure to align with defined strategies and goals.

• Manage programs through creating program plans, management tools and reporting capabilities.

• Lead cross-functional teams and ensure resources are assigned to meet program goals.

• Recommend program budget and monitor and adjust plan as resource requirements change.

• Communicate and document program quality outcomes and progress metrics.

• Address and resolve project issues to ensure goals remain on track.

Support the growth and effectiveness of the Detroit Parent Network by:

• Attracting, integrating, and retaining DPN members.

• Managing projects or initiatives involving DPN members and/or community partners.

• Inspiring DPN members, without pressure or persistence, to leverage their networks to provide access and opportunity for parents, children and families.

• Collaborating with community stakeholders to integrate DPN members into relevant programming.

• Providing the DPN team with marketing collateral for their communication needs.

Collaborate with corporate and community partners by:

• Serving as contact person for business and community engagement, focusing on opportunities tied to DPN programs.

• Connecting and working with business leaders, industry professionals, and other organizations to develop program-based learning opportunities.

• Assisting your team with program development, tracking and reporting key metrics of success and outcomes on an ongoing basis.

• Facilitating the DPN team’s understanding and support of the programs and outcomes.

• Promoting programs and/or activities that complement engagement and/or recruitment of DPN members.

Qualifications Education/Skills/Experience

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Work Schedule

• Weekdays, with occasional evening/weekend commitments.

• Monday through Friday.

• Hybrid work model with 80% onsite and 20% remote.
