Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Program Manager - Behavioral Health Crisis Response Training- School of Social Work at its Detroit campus location.

TheBehavioral Health Crisis Response Training program is a newly establishedtraining program at WSU School of Social Work. The program is being developedin partnership with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Service (MDHS) toaugment training of behavioral health professionals – or these training tobecome professionals – to work in emerging jobs as crisis response workers,co-responders, crisis centers, etc. The Program Manager will support the development,implementation, marketing/recruitment, evaluation, and sustainability of theprogram. The program will be offered as both continuing education and creditbearing course, with both asynchronous and face-to-face teaching modalities –requiring imaginative and innovative thinking to reach a statewide audience.
Assist with implementing a marketing plan for both continuing education and credit-bearing pathways of the program in conjunction with our marketing manager. Recruit and enroll students and behavioral health professionals into both pathway programs.
Review applications and admit students for the Continuing Education. Award waivers for those that have already taken the training sessions. Maintain records of students who complete the modules.
Assist in recruiting and contracting instructors for creating various modules. Review the content of the modules to ensure modules meet program criteria.
Work with other university resources (WSU TV, Office of Teaching and Learning; SW Technology Consultant, IT) to build a platform for the asynchronous courses.
Liaison with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Director of Crisis Program and the Advisory Committee. Coordinate routine meetings (i.e., monthly).
Develop content for modules and syllabi courses. Provide training consultations to instructors of the asynchronous and synchronous courses.
Work with the WSU Social Work curriculum committee to obtain approval for university credit for the crisis response courses.
Teach content in person and/or asynchronous; perhaps teaching in areas across the state.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education Master's degree
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field of study.
Experience Intermediate (3 to 4 years job-related experience)
Professional experience in crisis practice settings and/or academic institutions designing and managing training programs.
Must possess and maintain current licensure in the State of Michigan Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
Experience assisting people with addiction, relationship difficulties, depression, stress, extreme poverty, mental illness, parenting etc.
Combination of content expertise, practice experience, understanding of training/teaching pedagogy and strong administrative and organizational skills.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities
Ability to lead and organize multiple functions. Knowledge of community resources.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a record of accomplishment of presenting findings to diverse audiences
Analytical and Presentation Skills: Ability to evaluate, interpret and present complex information effectively in professionally prepared documents or presentations. Must possess a demonstrated attention to detail to achieve a high degree of accuracy.
Professionalism: Must demonstrate and possess a high level of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality. Demonstrated expertise in collaborating with external partners, such as state agencies, community organizations, or other research institutions.
Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Experience in Voice Thread; Canva or other technology platforms a plus.
Organizational Leadership: Relates work tasks to key organizational objectives/vision, exhibits sound and accurate judgment and provides vision and inspiration to peers and subordinates.
