OVERALL: Surgical practice is looking for a seasoned Medical Billing Accounts Receivable Specialist. This position is primarily responsible for review and follow up of AR accounts. Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Understand the full revenue cycle.
• Accurate and timely follow-up and correspondence with providers, insurance company inquiries/correspondence and assuring accurate reimbursement and payments.
• Review, analyze and work Accounts Receivable Aging Reports and research and resolve unpaid claims with payors and patients.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE:

• Accounts receivable reporting for accurate payments/adjustments; patient, insurance and EFT payments
• Reviewing accounts for claims appeals and reprocessing for HCFA and UB billing
• Working with a billing team to answer patient questions and solicit payments
• Obtaining eligibility and benefits
• Communicate trends, contract updates and inconsistencies with fee schedules
• Monitor highest volume codes, payors, and procedures

TEAMWORK:

• Evaluate and monitor work flows to ensure efficiency and timely completion of assigned responsibilities
• Maintain a positive work environment
• Work cooperatively with Surgeons, Executive Director, Managers and fellow teammates

ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

• NextGen EMR experience desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Excel and Word
• Using the following websites: Availity, UHC Link, Cigna (among others) to research and complete insurance appeals
• Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written
• Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and a team-player. We are a thriving 5 spine surgeon practice.
• We are looking for an experienced accounts receivable team player to join our fun and hardworking billing team of 7.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
