ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
Deschutes County Health Services supports over 400 staff in Behavioral and Public Health programs working to promote and protect the health and safety of the community in a broad variety of community-based settings.
Deschutes County Behavioral Health (DCBH) is the Community Mental Health Program providing safety net and core clinical services for community members in Deschutes County dealing with mental health and substance use conditions. DCBH is also a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). As such, DCBH relies on multi-disciplinary teams to provide innovative, evidence based, recovery-oriented services in behavioral healthcare settings co-located with physical health providers.

ABOUT THE JOB:
The Administrative Support Specialist provides critical administrative support services for the Intensive Adult Services Team. This clinical team serves adults with severe and persistent mental illness providing services such as homeless outreach, rental assistance, supported employment, and coordination with primary care.
Being primarily based in Bend though travel to other sites in Bend, La Pine and Redmond will be required on occasion. A typical schedule for this position is Mon-Fri, 8-5pm. This position may be eligible for one remote day a week as allowed by policy and approved by the administrative supervisor and program manager.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Applies independent judgement to resolving problems, analyzing data, and making decisions.
  • Manages special projects, calendars, data management, accounting, and research.
  • Schedules meetings, track agenda items, take meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Provides administrative management of sensitive and confidential issues, including running reports.
What You Will Bring:
Knowledge of or experience with:
  • How administrative role supports clinical work in a healthcare setting.
  • Various computer programs including, but not limited to, Electronic Health Records systems, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Munis, etc.
  • Techniques for dealing with the public, in person and over the telephone.
Skill in:
  • Clear communication and problem solving.
  • Prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
  • Creating professional documents and correspondence with brief instructions.

Compensation

$4,198.90 to $5,626.92 per month for a 172.67 hour work month. Excellent County benefit package when eligible. This union-represented position is available immediately.
BENEFITS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent;
  • AND four (4) years of administrative support experience;
  • OR any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with EHR software, such as the EPIC/OCHIN platform.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Necessary Special Requirements

Driving is a requirement for this position. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date. The employment offer will be contingent upon presentation of an acceptable and verifiable driver's license, pre-employment screening for criminal history, driving history, and controlled substances (NOTE: Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment). This screening must be completed with satisfactory findings in order for a formal offer of employment to be extended.
Must have dependable transportation and be able and willing to drive throughout Deschutes County in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
