One of the most highly respected multi-physician, privately owned dermatology practices in Morris County is looking to expand our team. We have a need for a permanent, full-time clinical medical assistant. Perfect for PRE-HEALTH students on a gap year. Candidates with previous experience in dermatology and/or plastic surgery will be given preference, but willing to train the right candidate. We offer a professional, supportive, team-oriented atmosphere, all with a mutual goal of taking compassionate care of our patients.
The Ideal Dermatology Medical Assistant will have the following:
- Experience with assisting a provider in a fast-paced office.
- Experience with IPLEDGE, biopsies, surgical excisions, suture removal and more.
- A clear understanding of HIPAA and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented and well organized.
- Professional, friendly and have a positive attitude.
- Computer knowledge and EMR experience necessary.
- Excellent patient care/customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to work both mornings, evenings and some Saturdays.
- Willingness to learn new things.
The Medical Assistant Job description includes but is not limited to:
- Prepare treatment rooms for clinical examinations.
- Accurately and thoroughly document a full medical history and chief complaint.
- Assisting the practitioner with medical/cosmetic procedures.
- Prepare biopsy specimens to be sent to a laboratory.
- Suture removal.
- Communicate test results/instructions to patients based on the physician’s directions.• Prepare prescriptions to be sent to the pharmacy electronically, written or telephoned in.
- Wound care.
- Cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
Job Type: Full-time.
Salary: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour.
