Summary/Objective

In keeping with our organization's goal of improving the lives of the participants we serve, the Director of Activities is responsible for the direction, provision, and quality of activities services within our Medical Adult Day Care Center. The Director will plan and implement a program of social, physical, psychological, spiritual and cognitive activities in accordance with the needs and interests of participants.

• Responsible for the overall operations of the facility's Activity Department which include supervision of staff, development, and implementation of departmental policy and procedures, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Develops a diversity of programs to maintain participants' sense of usefulness and self-respect.
• Participates in the care planning process, including assessment, creating and monitoring care plan objectives, observing participant needs and preferences, and reporting any behavioral changes.
• Completes progress notes, event-triggered notes and quarterly assessments in participant charts.
• MUST HAVE ADC CERTIFICATION OR CTRS CERTIFICATION IN ORDER TO APPLY AND BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN ACTIVITIES WITH OLDER ADULTS AND GUJURATI SPEAKING IS A PLUS.
