Dental Assistants: perform a variety of patient care, office and laboratory duties. (Most Common Tasks)

  • Greets patient by name and Introduces yourself/explain procedures for today
  • Prepares treatment room (sterilizes and disinfects instruments/prepares instrument trays)
  • Place record in treatment room or select record on computer
  • Room Prep: All necessary instruments and sterile paks, tray set-ups, and equipment such as burs, rheostat, light, etc. are ready and neat. OSHA COMPLIANT
  • Seat patient: ask appropriate questions
  • Reviews informed consent with patient
  • "warms up" the patient and explores opportunities
  • Capture appropriate radiographs and display
  • Perform any other preliminary observations, screenings, impressions, and paperwork (data entry on computer)
  • Records medical and dental histories and vital signs
  • Charts dental information about pre-existing restorations and conditions such as lesions and missing teeth.
  • Informative introduction to Doctor
  • Assist Doctor and “Chairside Cheerlead”
  • Selects and hands instruments to the dentist during dental procedures
  • Suctions the patient’s mouth
  • Applies fluoride coating to the teeth
  • Pours, trims, and polishes study casts
  • Examines orthodontic appliances
  • Applies whitening agents
  • Makes and cements temporary crowns
  • Places post-extraction and periodontal dressings
  • Takes impressions for orthodontic appliances and cast restorations
  • Applies Pit and Fissure Sealants
  • Monitor patient and nitrous oxide if used and monitor for tank refills-or Sedation cases
  • Perform any tasks that you are qualified, such as temporaries, packing cord, preliminary impressions for temporaries, polishing, etc.
  • Record clinical records and initial your documentation
  • Present Treatment to the patient
  • Present Patient Education Video
  • Explain post treatment instructions: Write up instructions and DIALOGUE FOR STAFF for each procedure: Dentures, Stainless Steel Crowns, Crowns, Composites, Root Canal Therapy, Extractions, etc.
  • Explain Prescription and contraindications, have doctor sign, and track in computer/record pharmacy
  • Complete any lab prescriptions, send to lab and track
  • Escort to Business Desk or Consultation Room for Financial Arrangements
  • Communicate Next Visit and Time Allowance and schedules next visits
  • Distribute New patient Cards to patient
  • Care Calls
  • Contribute to social media content for office and participate in team activities
  • Take part in Team Training Calls
  • **might be required and open to working select Fridays for larger cases

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
