Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and organized individual who is trained as a Dental Assistant and a Front Desk Associate to join our team. In the dual role, you will be responsible for assisting with patients, sterilizing, cleaning and organizing in the back and when possible provide exceptional administrative support and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. Your role will involve managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a professional and welcoming reception area.
Duties:
- Perform all the dental assistant duties in the back.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment according to established
protocols.
- Take and process dental X-rays as directed by the dentist.
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct them to the appropriate department
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using Open Dental
- Collect patient information, update medical records, and ensure accuracy of all data
- Verify insurance coverage and process insurance claims
- Handle billing and payment transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office area
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
- Collaborate with other dental assistants, dental hygienists, and front office
staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Skills:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant/Receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Familiarity with medical records systems, such as Open Dental or similar software
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and managing paperwork
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly and professional demeanor
