Compensation Range:
$60,900 - $76,100 annually
The Role:
As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will coordinate activities in the human resources area and act as an assistant and backup for benefits, wellness, recruiting, and administrative assistance. This role maintains the filing systems within human resources, following all policies, operating guidelines and practices for file storage and confidentiality. Maintains strict confidentiality when working on sensitive matters important to the overall operation of Dakota Electric Association.
Responsibilities:
  • Assists the human resources personnel with administrative duties in the areas of employee development, performance management, employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits and wellness, and recruitment.
  • Administers the employee award programs.
  • Updates and distributes employee handbook and benefit guide, operating guides, policies, labor contracts, and various forms.
  • Responds to employee requests and questions.
  • Assists with the recruitment, interview, and onboarding process, including scheduling interviews, signing up and preparation for career fairs, and ordering meals as requested.
  • Maintains I-9 files and ensures compliance.
  • Communicating with retirees for annual renewals, including preparing annual funding notices to active retirees on the HRA plan, updating retiree statuses on the annual report and addresses, and submitting updated annual retiree life insurance billing to Finance.
  • Assists with open enrollment and wellness events.
  • Assists with the organization and execution of employee events.
  • Organizes travel, lodging, meal, and meeting arrangements, when requested, for both individuals and company-wide functions.
  • Coordinates meetings and seminars hosted by DEA personnel.
  • Assists the executive assistant with board meeting set-up, filing, and other needs. Acts as a back-up for the executive assistant for board meetings, when needed.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
Required qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 2 Years of related experience
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Human resources/benefits certification through SHRM, HRCI or CEBS
  • Experience with a human resources information system (HRIS) and an electronic applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
