Cook PM Shift Location - Midtown NYCWho we are: CUCINA 8 is an upscale Italian restaurant in the heart of Midtown NYC. It's an impeccable destination ideal for unforgettable events, offering a choice of plush, private rooms. We offer a wide range of enticing Italian specialties, custom-designed menus artfully which complement the glamorous setting.We are looking for experienced cooks to join our back of the house team for our PM shift.The Role:The cook will help our Executive Chef and Sous Chef prepare high-quality dishes for our new, upscale midtown Manhattan restaurant.
- Prepares meals by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards,
- Follow recipes and instructions from Chefs in accordance with the Cucina 8 standards.
- Perform specialized station duties as required or assigned by Chefs
- Taste all ingredients as needed to ensure consistency
- Work under pressure and to take direction from kitchen chefs
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service.
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
- Maintains good relationships with coworkers and managers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- 1-2 years of kitchen experience in a similar role
- Degree from a culinary arts training program preferred
- Experience with Italian cuisine is a plus
- Good knife skills
- Good communication skills
- Weekends are a must!
- $18-25 per hour, based on experience
