Creative Financial Staffing is Hiring a Director of HR Near White Plains, NY

Director of Human ResourcesCFS has partnered with an Independent day school who is currently seeking a Director of Human Resources to oversee HR functions across its three campuses. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is responsible for executing and overseeing various HR functions including hiring, compensation, benefits administration, legal compliance, and fostering a positive organizational culture.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and supervision for HR operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable personnel laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate performance management processes and support the recruiting lifecycle, including job postings, candidate visits, and new hire orientations.
  • Manage employee relations, including legal issues and separation processes.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions, salary/compensation scales, and personnel files.
  • Provide training on HR topics and oversee employee engagement activities.
  • Represent the school internally and externally, championing the brand.
Benefits Administration
  • Manage and coordinate benefits programs for employees, including communication, problem-solving, and claims resolution.
  • Collaborate with insurance brokers to develop benefit strategies and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Prepare regulatory reporting and manage annual open enrollment for benefits plans.
  • Resolve discrepancies or errors on carrier billing invoices and support ACA reporting.
What We Are Looking For
  • Minimum of three years of related experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field; certification preferred.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
