CORNERSTONE RESIDENTIAL is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Bountiful, UT

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: HR Generalist

SUMMARY:

The HR Generalist will provide general HR support across the organization as well as support in benefits. This individual will specialize in Multi-State and California employment laws as well as multi-state payroll guidelines for compliance.

The ideal candidate will provide general HR/Benefit/Leave support across the organization and be responsible for all leave consultations, new hire benefit enrollments and annual open enrollment. In addition, you will be responsible for all leaves including management of all WC leaves.

Classification: Exempt/Salary

Compensation: $60k-$65k/year

DUTIES:

· HR Support: Under direction of the Director of HR, carry out general HR support in any key HR areas such as: educating staff on current policy, benefit administration, onboarding, reporting, processing new hires, employee changes and terminations, internal recruitment, payroll support, worker’s compensation administration, training, and general recordkeeping and compliance with legal and company standards.

· Benefits Administration: Administers eligibility, monthly enrollment, updates, and terminations. Serves as COBRA administrator with third party vendor including set up, documentation, and timely communication to eligible staff. Reconciles monthly benefit bills to match with enrollment, addresses errors or issues in collaboration with Accounting. Responsible for supporting annual open enrollment process including participation in the planning, set up, documentation and on-site meetings. Triages support to staff related to benefit issues in partnership with third party insurance broker.

· Leave of Absence Administration: Serve as subject matter expert on leave of absence policies and laws for employees and managers.

· Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.

· Collaborate with external LOA Administrator, Payroll and Employee Health to monitor and maintain accurate LOA status information and consult on pay issues related to leaves.

· Maintain reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work, relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.

· Update employment statuses, coordinate the return-to-work process, employee transitions and/or employee separation from the organization.

· Oversee and reconcile HRIS leave data against external LOA Administrator, Payroll and Employee Health leave data and update HR records as necessary.

· Oversee all Leave of Absence related investigations in close collaboration with the Director of HR.

· Complete forms as required by state and federal employment agencies and departments for review by Director of HR.

· ADA Accommodation Administration: Serve as subject matter expert on ADA Accommodation policies and laws for employees and managers.

Ø Work in collaboration with Director of HR to recommend and resolve requests for accommodation under the ADAAA.

Ø Maintain complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.

Ø Communicate directly with employees and their treating provider.

Ø Engage the interactive process with management for those employees who have requested workplace accommodations as a condition of return to work.

· Metrics: Responsible for maintaining and reporting on employee data and analytics including identifying and communicating patterns and trends. Prepares weekly employee changes communication for management.

· Training: Ensures managers, supervisors and staff know how to use and optimize ADP for time and attendance, Time off requests, benefits administration, personal information updates and PCNs. Communicates upgrades to ADP via email or in person orientations.

· Personnel Records: Maintains secure, accurate and complete personnel records and files; coordinates employment verifications; completes CA and multi-state EDD unemployment, disability and paid family leave requests and similar requests of other government agencies.

· Onboarding Support: Act as primary back-up to HR Assistant when they are not available or away from the office.

· Act as primary liaisons for all employees or applicants.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

CLASSIFICATION:

· Exempt/Salary

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Solid HR experience (3 or more years); HR certification a plus

· Benefit administration experience (2 or more years)

· Familiarity with leaves of absence Federal and State labor law including CA

· Experience with ADP (or similar HRIS) greatly desired; payroll experience a huge plus

· Intermediate or greater knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

· Commitment to creating and enforcing high standards

· Ability to multitask and shift priorities, excellent communication skills.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving and research skills.

· Ability to work independently and to serve as an advocate of the company with employees, vendors, etc.

· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work on multiple projects (within constantly changing priorities) with enthusiasm; excellent prioritization skills

· Ability to learn quickly and adapt; ability to meet deadlines and objectives

· Excellent oral and written communication, ability to work under shifting deadlines, needs, etc.

· Ability to work well in a team environment and to provide positive support and enthusiasm to employees (and all staff, visitors, etc.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to reach, bend, speak, hear, see, stoop, kneel & occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

· Must be able to write & read (in English).

· Must be able to sit or stand for long periods (8 hours of more per day)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
