We are looking for an In Room Server to join our team at the Nine Orchard Hotel.

Nine Orchard is a luxury, boutique hotel in a beautiful landmark building on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Nine Orchard houses Corner Bar and Swan Room as well as two event spaces on the hotel's second floor.

Purpose

The Room Server will serve guests staying at the 9 Orchard Hotel while upholding the quality of food, beverage, and service.

This person will ensure in room dining service runs smoothly and efficiently for guests to have pleasurable experiences.

Key Focus

• Attend to all incoming requests and orders from hotel guests in a timely manner.
• Deliver food and beverage orders to guests’ rooms while upholding standards
• Prepare and set up the dining area to the guest’s preference.
• Ensure all food and beverage orders are fulfilled and uphold quality.
• Provide attentive and quality service to all guests during their visit

Personnel :

• Ensure compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards.
• Participate in in room dining service and team trainings.
• Uphold food and beverage knowledge.
• Ensure consistent communication with staff members, management, and the kitchen during service.
• Demonstrate ability to aid co-workers during service while successfully maintaining responsibilities.

Guest Service

• Ensures all guests consistently receive courteous and efficient service.
• Responds positively and promptly to customer concerns and complaints.
• Maintains guest satisfaction by monitoring and evaluating food beverage and service offerings.
• Communicating any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff.
• Ensures consistent execution of company policies and procedures including recently created and evolving COVID guidelines.

Service Standards

• Act as part of the team to maintain the high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant both before, during and after service.
• Reliably complete all assigned side work.
• Follow all company policies and procedures including recently created and evolving COVID guidelines.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) standards.
• Completes side work according to the schedule.
• Keep work area clean and organized.

Physical Demands

The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
