About Us:
Core Recovery is an outpatient behavioral health treatment center that provides intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) programs to individuals struggling with mental health, addiction, and eating disorders. Core Recovery is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services as an outpatient treatment center with locations in North Phoenix and Surprise, Arizona.
The Role:
Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) and Group Facilitators work with Core Recovery’s clients in group settings to provide psychoeducation, compassion, guidance, support, and encouragement. In addition, BHTs provide case management services, prepare documentation, and receive guidance, oversight, and supervision from Core Recovery’s clinicians and Clinical Director. BHTs coordinate care with outside providers and ensure the highest quality care is being provided to meet patients’ needs.
Responsibilities:
● Provides group facilitation, case management, and psychoeducation for patients.
● Completes all documentation in a timely manner.
● Identifies outside resources for the patient.
● Helps the patient understand the intake paperwork documents.
● Facilitates appropriate scheduling for all levels of care.
● Understands and follows the ACA Code of Ethics, follows policy and procedures of Core Recovery (as presented at orientation), follows rules in employee handbook, understands and follows state, federal, and local rules and laws.
● Incorporates education that meets the individual needs of the patient.
● Understands and uses coordination of care with other providers in order to provide the highest level of care.
● Maintains accurate and current records on patient case load utilizing the electronic records system.
● Communicates with the patient’ family or authorized contacts when needed.
● Understands and complies with Arizona Department of Health Services rules and guidelines for Outpatient Facility providers.
Skills and Knowledge:
● Provides psychoeducation and case management.
● Provide patient care that supports the patient's dignity, independence, strengths, boundaries, privacy, and choice.
● Recognize symptoms of mental health disorders, personality disorder, and/or substance use disorder.
● Communicates staffing and supervision needs outside of the scheduled times.
● Protects the patient rights and confidentiality.
● Protects and maintains the confidentiality of patient records in the Electronic Records System.
● Understands and respects cultural differences.
● Identifies, prevents, and responds if the patient is in danger to themselves or other.
● Read and implement a patient’s treatment plan.
● Identify effective community resources for the patient individual needs.
● Provide thorough documentation of patient information and emergency contacts.
● Understands the ACA Code of Ethics.
● Understands common side effects and adverse reactions of medications commonly prescribed for mental health disorders, personality disorders, and substance use disorders.
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s or associate’s degree and relevant experience in a behavioral health related field
● Must be open minded, flexible, and willing to understand and educate themselves on the most current treatment approaches, data, and information that would strengthen their knowledge and skills within the scope of practice.
● Must be able to work well with patients in crisis and have knowledge in crisis techniques and strategies.
● Understands and complies with the rules and requirements set forth by the Arizona Department of Health Services
