Corbins Electric is Hiring a Facilities Safety Manager Near Phoenix, AZ

The Facilities Safety Manager is responsible for understanding, implementing and championing the company’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs while also driving lean production principles, philosophies and practices. The most qualified candidate will also provide leadership and direction in line with company values and promote a positive and progressive work environment.

Responsibilities

EHS

  • Provide leadership and oversight of the company’s EHS program and ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations
  • Research, develop, and facilitate training on injury and incident prevention policies, procedures, standards, or other workplace health and safety topics and corrective actions to reduce risk and improve safety performance
  • Promote a collaborative team environment through recognition, leading by example, and working alongside teammates, while promoting comprehensive workplace health and safety
  • Perform risk assessments, audits, observations, investigations, and cause analyses to identify operational risks and effective mitigation measures. Promptly address and track resolutions to all safety and loss prevention issues and communicate findings to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Evaluate department or other company analytics to identify, implement and drive business improvement change initiatives
  • Prepare reports on the progress of current or future projects, potential risks, and any support needed to ensure success
  • Maintains all facility safety and first aid equipment and works with leadership to resolve any issues
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all interested parties relative to the facility’s fire detection and suppression systems

LEAN

  • Partner with leadership and other members of the operations team to develop and implement 5S and/or other Lean manufacturing methodologies. Continuously ensure the Lean concepts are accurately increasing efficiencies and reducing waste in the facilities’ value streams and manufacturing processes
  • Develop and facilitate Lean manufacturing training and ensure relevant on going learning and development for all employees in lean improvement tools and communication methods
  • Define and develop, business best practices and Lean vision strategies. Propose updates to management for continuous improvement
  • Partner with teammates to collect observations, monitor key performance indicators and foster a problem-solving culture

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • An intense focus on safety and lean manufacturing to lead and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to recognize Environmental, Health and Safety related hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Knowledge of Lean concepts such as 5S, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor s degree or related experience
  • OSHA 30 Required; OSHA 511 and 501 preferred
  • NFPA 70E and 101 Certification preferred
  • Lean Certification preferred
