A TYPICAL DAY FOR A SAFETY MANAGER
As the Safety Manager at our manufacturing company, you have a busy day ensuring the safety and compliance of our operations. You conduct and document employee training on our corporate safety program and any government-mandated training such as OSHA. This ensures that our team is knowledgeable and equipped to maintain a safe and secure workplace with good industrial hygiene.
Managing our workers' comp program, you investigate accidents, administer first aid, file mandated reports, coordinate medical care and return-to-work programs, and manage open claims and our e-mod rating. You work closely with our team to ensure that all employees receive the care and support they need in the event of an accident, while also ensuring compliance with workers' comp regulations.
Throughout the day, you ensure that our facilities and business operations comply with governmental and environmental laws, including OSHA regulations. You secure permits and licenses, submit reports and filings promptly, and act as the primary contact person during audits or inspections. You also advise and educate management on safety, compliance, and risk management issues to help improve our practices.
