We’re looking for a highly detail-oriented accounting pro with 2-3 years of public accounting experience looking to get out of that grind. This high-profile position must possess superior Excel skills and will assist the Controller with ad hoc internal and corporate reporting along with month-end close, account reconciliations, and quarterly and year-end work papers.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile bank statements, accounts payable and receivables
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Provide technical support and advice on accounting functions
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
• Assist with insurance and tax audits
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
• Liaise with our Controller to improve financial procedures

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications/Requirements

• Proven experience as a senior accountant and/or Accounting Supervisor
• Public Accounting experience preferred
• Thorough knowledge accounting policy and procedures
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Awareness of business trends
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with various accounting software packages
• Advanced MS Excel skills including V-lookups and pivot tables
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
• CPA Preferred
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Physical Demands / Work Environment

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
• Occasionally move about inside the office to access office machinery (copier/printer, etc.)
• Constantly operates office machinery, such as a computer, phone, copy machine, printer
• Constantly communicates with management team and coworkers. Must be able to exchange accurate information
• Constantly works in an inside office setting
