Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Sr. Systems Engineer.
Position Overview:
- This is a contract to hire opportunity for a terrific end-client in the apparel industry.
- The position comes with strong benefits and is 100% remote.
- Write fast and performant database queries using a flavor of SQL Server, such as MySQL, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving using JavaScript and other programming languages
- Development, optimize, and implement stored procedures
- Use database analytical tools to analyze performance and generate reports
- Management and support of ERP system (Dynamics, Netsuite or Epicor, etc)
- Expert management of database applications, database programming and integration with spreadsheets
- Troubleshooting and support of core infrastructure and internal/external systems
- Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements (PowerBI).
- ERP and CRM implementation experience
- SQL query and statement writing experience
- DevOps/SRE experience a plus
- Enterprise cloud Migration experience (Legacy on-Prim to Cloud – Azure)
- 10 years of experience as a SQL Developer or similar role
- Advanced knowledge of database procedures and Microsoft SQL Server concepts
- Advanced knowledge of one or more SQL variants, such as MySQL, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL
- The ability to create fast and efficient database queries, including joining and cross-referencing cells from several tables
- Familiarity with standard database management tools and software, such as Microsoft Access, Oracle Database, and phpMyAdmin
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence software such as Cognos, Qlikview, or PowerBI is a plus
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft SQL Server
- Good knowledge of HTML and JavaScript
- Research required data
- Helpful appropriate and useful reporting deliverables
- Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
- Develop procedures and scripts for data migration
- Provide timely scheduled management reporting
- Any experience with Power8 IS/400 or DB2 would be a huge bonus.
- EDI Experience is a plus
- Understanding of data networks, PC networking and communications is a plus
- Understanding and Experience in Manufacturing and Supply Chain is a plus.
