We are currently on a hybrid schedule (x2 a week in office, x3 a week remote) and are looking for a dedicated Systems Engineer to join our team!

Position Summary:

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the support of the Windows servers, active directory, internal DNS, Exchange online, Terminal Servers, M365 administration, and Teams administration. The engineer will provide secondary support for email security, server hardware, virtualization, and backup and restore services. This position will work with IT developers and business managers to resolve technical problems and complete strategic infrastructure initiatives associated with our services infrastructure.

Essential Functions:

• Provide technical expertise and support of the physical and virtual servers associated with our infrastructure.
• Manage internal client needs and expectations ensuring issues are identified, resolved or escalated quickly and appropriately.
• Participate in the ‘every third week’ rotation for email security analysis which involves familiarity with Mimecast and M365 Exchange tools.
• Implement changes that occur after business hours as required.
• Monitor and implement server OS, application upgrades and patches as needed.
• Keep informed to relevant technology changes in the industry that are related to our need and keep management informed.
• Responsible for installing, upgrading, administering security and access privileges on all Windows servers.
• Maintain Windows scheduled tasks for applications and other system events.
• Install software, applications, services and schedules.
• Maintain Active Directory servers and redundancy across servers.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation detailing system changes.
• Provide support for other Operations Technical Support and Administrators with hardware, storage, and network problems as necessary and perform root cause analysis.
• Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

• Responds to telephone, email, and on-line requests for technical support in a timely manner.
• Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem using applicable systems and tools.
• Coordinates with other teams or departments to resolve issues.
• Maintains accurate & complete documentation.
• Completes projects as assigned.
• Must be a self-starter, be able to juggle multiple priorities, have good judgment and be a systematic problem solver.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be willing and able to work occasional weekends or extended hours and be available off hours to address problems remotely.

Position Qualifications:

• 3 year previous experience.
• Education: college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience with Veeam, Commvault and VMware is preferred.
• Certifications: Microsoft, Azure or other security related certifications are preferred.
• Experience with Mimecast or similar is highly preferred.
• Experience with PowerShell is highly preferred.

Physical Abilities:

• Mobility required for sitting, standing, and walking.
• Manual/finger dexterity required in both hands to operate computer keyboard and manipulate small objects.
• Sensory ability required to see, hear and touch.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment:

• Job duties are usually performed in an office environment with uniform temperatures and normal air conditions.
• Occasional visits to data center for maintenance or outages.
