About the Role

The Company is seeking a Managing Director, Development to lead a team of seven in the creation and execution of a development and communications strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for raising and sustaining a minimum of $2.5M annually from the private sector, with a focus on grant writing, individual giving, and partnerships with corporations and foundations. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and board engagement to meet the organization's financial and advocacy goals. The ideal candidate will be a strong relationship builder, a strategic thinker, and committed to the values of the organization, including anti-racism and a youth-centered approach.Applicants for the Managing Director, Development position should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, at least 5 years of fundraising experience, and a proven track record of securing six-figure gifts. Experience in leading diverse teams, managing Board relationships, and a commitment to continued racial equity learning are essential. The role requires strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, as well as the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of high net worth communities and experience with Salesforce are desirable. The candidate should be a creative thinker, results-oriented, and willing to work outside standard business hours as needed. Experience with the company's service model is a plus.
