Summary Description: The Estimator must be a detailed individual skilled in analyzing data from numerous sources. High level capability for developing a specific and detailed budget for a tentative project. Must be a relationship builder with all contacts including internal sources, vendors and prospective customers.

  • Prioritizes steps necessary to provide a prospective customer with an in-depth quote.
  • Studies and plans specifications and projects costs for each aspect of a project.
  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors and negotiating price.
  • Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Knowledgeable of industry trends with the ability to summarize and apply to a quote when necessary.
  • Provides in depth and accurate pricing information while understanding the impact on the company with errors.
  • Uses high level organizational skills to record, document and store all information for each project.
  • Ability to work with other members of a team to complete a quote or assist in other ways.
  • Must continually update professional and technical knowledge through professional networking, ongoing education, professional groups, etc.
  • Understand and follow all safety procedures and protocol while working offsite for a customer or while on property.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Superior knowledge of commercial/industrial design and build processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with prospective customers, vendors and other staff.
  • Good computer skills with Microsoft products and project design software.
  • Ability to learn new concepts and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Ability to be part of a high functioning team with an emphasis on treating co workers, supervisors and customers with respect and a spirit of cooperation.

Education and Experience, & Requirements:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in commercial building with an emphasis on mechanical systems.
  • Will be required to maintain all certifications, licensing and ongoing education pertinent to this position.
  • Must be a licensed and insured driver and must maintain a valid driver’s license at all times

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
