McNally-Nimergood Co. is a family-owned and operated crane rental company that has been leading the industry in Michigan since 1946. This growing company is seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to fill the combined role of Crane Estimator/Project Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing crane rental projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to safety and quality standards. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing resources, and addressing any issues that arise during project execution. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. This position plays a crucial role in winning new business and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimate Preparation: Develop detailed estimates for crane rental services based on project specifications, site visits, and customer requirements.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyze project costs, including equipment, labor, permits, transportation, and other related expenses.
  • Customer Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, understanding their needs, providing recommendations, and keeping them updated on project progress.
  • Project Planning: Assist with planning crane operations, including logistics, permits, safety requirements, and site-specific considerations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure estimates align with company capabilities and customer expectations.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare detailed proposals and bids for customers, including scope of work, cost breakdowns, and timelines.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and issues.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, crane technology, safety regulations, and market conditions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that estimates are accurate and meet internal quality standards before submission to customers.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and customer communications for future reference and audits.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve project-related issues, including delays, equipment breakdowns, and staffing challenges.

Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

· Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the crane rental or construction industry.

· Industry Knowledge: Understanding of crane operations, construction practices, and safety regulations.

· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, teams, and other stakeholders.

· Organizational Skills: Strong Organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.

· Problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze issues and develop effective solutions quickly.

· Technical Skills: Familiarity with crane-specific programs, such as 3D Lift Planner, is a plus.

· Knowledge of Regulations: Understanding of safety regulations, permits, and industry standards related to crane operations.

Working Conditions:

· Office Environment: The role involves a combination of office-based work and on-site project management.

· Site Visits: Regular travel to project sites for inspections and meetings with clients and teams.

· Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during site visits. Some physical activity may be required.

· Travel: Travel to project sites and client locations as needed.
